high angle-makes person look small and weak

Minority report

by the director using a medium close up, it allows us (the audience) to see the seriousness of the police and their facial expressions.it shows enough background for us to see other police in the background so we understand there is a large group of officers to show they have a important case to solve. by this shot being a medium close up it allows the audience to see the officers mean business and are going to go after someone. the juxtaposition of the first clip showing tom cruise running in a different direction of these men mean they are meant to capture tom cruise.

this picture is a long shot as it shows plenty of background and we can see action going on in the photo. due to the angle of this shot we can see the scene is taking place in a warehouse and that there may be two rivals there to sort out dodgy business. it always enough space for us to see a man from head to toe in the background and clearly shows a large car in the photo. i reckon the editor did this in order to create a action feel to the audience as perhaps a big fight will happen.

the editor chose a medium close up here but has put a focus on the character. this can show that he is playing a main role in this scene and perhaps is someone important in the film. the medium close up allows us to see some background so the audience can see that the man is somewhere quite dark and unusual. the angle is aimed more at the mans face therefore the editor wants us to see his expression.

Channel 4 is a British public-service television broadcaster which began transmission on 2 November 1982. Although largely commercially self-funded, it is ultimately publicly owned; originally a subsidiary of the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA), the station is now owned and operated by Channel Four Television Corporation, a public body established in 1990, coming into operation in 1993. I reckon the target audience for this news channel is for the general public from the age of 11 to 80 years. i think it is for working class and above with mixed genders watching. University students and middle school will watch this as well as older working people.

The first story that was shown was about the Scottish independence. I think the editors chose this story first because its a very important decision that's going on in our country.
The next story mentioned is about the little boy Ashya arrives in Prague for his treatment.
The final story mentioned is about a black police firearms officer speaks out in discrimination.
Tuesday 9th

Media Ananlysis-Key concepts

Language

One language aspect from this advert is that on the bottom right corner is the subway logo in its special font and also there slogan 'eat fresh'. it has two main images which are promoting the meal deals of their sandwiches. They are very eye catching and have been made to look appetising to people that are working or studying and where they should go for lunch. The main thing that attracts our attention is low cost on the food. Also it has information about the locations of local subways and has the subway trade mark information.

Institution

The deal was produced by the company subway and is available to people in norwhich. They have advertised it to make it look cheap and tasty in order for people to go there instead of food restaurants like mc donalds or kfc.

Audience

This is targeted at both genders for ages of 13 to 35 or perhaps more. i think this is for people on the go that want a good value lunch or meal deal that is healthy and worth the price. i reckon this is also targeted at people that eat at other fast food restaurants  such as mc donalds or burger king etc. they have done this in order to attract more customers for profit. I think this is also targeted at people who are in college or teachers and workers that go out to eat for lunch.

Representation

this advert presents sandwiches that are well priced in the area of Norwich. the meaning of this advert is promote subways value deals.

media debates

'Video games and heavy metal make young people more likely to commit violent crimes'

I agree because i think games such as gta change the mind frame of young people and make them think it is acceptable to be a nuisance in the community without sanctions. Also heavy metal can cause teens to create negative vibes causing anti-social behaviour leading to violent crimes. Music that speaks of being disruptive can stick in young peoples mind as they are vunerable.
